This topic describes how to purchase and use Windows KEC instances, including purchase, login, and data disk mounting.
Log in to the KEC instance console.
On the Instance page that appears, click Create Instance.
In the Basic Configuration step, select a Windows image, complete relevant configuration, and then click Next.
In the Network Configuration step, set Bind EIP to Buy New EIP or Purchase EIP Later in the EIP Console.
Note that the number of EIPs to be purchased must be the same as the number of KEC instances.
Set other parameters such as the VPC and click Next.
In the System Configuration step, enter the system information and click Buy Now.
Confirm the information and click Submit Order.
If your account balance is insufficient, click Recharge, enter the corresponding amount, and then click Confirm.
Click Instance in the left navigation pane, and check the KEC instance you have purchased in the list of KEC instances.
The KEC instance is automatically started and is in the Running state.
A Windows KEC instance supports WebVNC login and remote desktop login.
The default username of the Windows operating system is kingsoft. If you forget the password, you can reset the password in the console.
Log in to the KEC console.
On the Instance page that appears, find the instance that you want to log in, and click Connect Instance in the Operation column.
Note that the instance must be in the Running state.
In the window that appears, click Ctrl+Alt+Delete under Key Operations in the upper-right corner.
If the screen stays black, it means that it is hibernating. Press any key to wake it up.
Enter the password and press Enter.
Before you log in to an instance by using a remote desktop connection, add an inbound rule to the security group to which the instance belongs. Set the protocol to TCP Windows Remote Login and both the start and end ports to 3389. For more information about how to configure a security group, see Configure a security group.
The following example describes how to use Remote Desktop Connection in Windows to connect to a Windows KEC instance.
Click Start in your local Windows operating system.
Enter mstsc in the search box on the task bar and press Enter. Find the Remote Desktop Connection application.
Click this application, enter the public IP address of the KEC instance, and then click Connect.
Enter the username kingsoft and password, and click OK.
Log in to the KEC instance and launch the Server Manager.
Click File and Storage Services, and then choose Volumes > Disks to view the mounted data disks.
In the New Volume Wizard dialog box, use the default server and disk settings and then click Next.
Specify a drive letter or folder and click Next.
Select a file system, set the unit size and volume label name, and then click Next. This example uses the default settings.
Confirm your settings and click Create.
Double-click This PC on the desktop.
Check for any new volume in the Devices and drives group. In this example, New Volume (D:) appears, indicating that the data disk is successfully mounted.
You can perform data read/write operations on the partition where a new volume is successfully created.
Note: For more information about the method of formatting a data disk over 2 TB, see Partitioning and formatting of data disk of over 2 TB.
