KEC instance selection

Last updated:2021-08-04 11:26:31

Instance type selection

You can select KEC instance configurations, including the number of vCPUs and memory size, based on your business needs.

  • For personal websites with less traffic, the configuration of one vCPU and 1 GB memory is a cost-effective option.
  • For general needs such as business operations, general data processing, and parallel computing, you can select the configuration of two vCPUs and 4 GB memory.
  • For the business with high computing performance requirement such as medium and large-scale business operations, batch processing, and apps, more vCPUs and larger memory size are required.

For more information about configurations and scenarios of different KEC instance types, see KEC instance types.

You can adjust the configuration based on the business traffic. KEC supports online configuration adjustment at any time. If you cannot accurately evaluate the required configuration, you can purchase the minimum configuration that can meet the needs first, and then upgrade the configuration in the console.

Data center selection

Kingsoft Cloud has established data centers in many countries and regions, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Russia. All data centers have the same infrastructure. You only need to choose the nearest data center based on your customer groups. For example, if most of your customers are in South China, the data center in Shanghai is more appropriate for you than the data center in Beijing.

Billing mode selection

KEC supports the following billing modes:

  • Subscription: This mode is suitable for fixed 24/7 services.
  • Pay-By-Daily-Config: In addition to the fixed 24/7 services, this mode also applies to traffic burst and temporary scaling tests.
  • Pay-As-You-Go: This mode is applicable to burst business scenarios.
  • Spot Instance: This mode is applicable to business with high fault tolerance and high interruption tolerance.

For more information about billing modes, see Billing modes of KEC instances.
