Billing modes of KEC instances

KEC supports various billing modes: Subscription, Pay-By-Daily-Config, Pay-As-You-Go, and Spot Instance. For more information about KEC pricing, see Pricing.

Subscription

Subscription is a prepaid billing mode. You must pay the KEC service for one or more months or years at a time before the service can be used.

This billing mode is applicable to scenarios in which the device demand is estimated in advance. The price of this billing mode is lower than that of the Pay-As-You-Go billing mode. However, resources cannot be released on demand.

Precautions

When you purchase KEC instances by using this billing mode, the system will deduct relative amount from your Kingsoft Cloud account based on the hardware (including CPU, memory, and data disks) that you have purchased and network costs. You must make sure that there is sufficient balance in your account. If the balance is less than the amount that the system will deduct, you need to recharge the account before purchase.

Refund

A KEC instance that uses the Subscription billing mode can be refunded with any reasons within five days after purchase.

If you want to get a refund, make sure you submit the refund request from the console within five days after the purchase. You can obtain the refund for only a single KEC instance and for only once from the console.

Pay-By-Daily-Config

Pay-By-Daily-Config is a postpaid billing mode. Resources are billed per day and you pay the bill monthly. Any usage less than one day will be calculated as one day.

This billing mode is applicable to fixed 24/7 services, traffic burst, or temporary scaling tests. It supports on-demand release of resources, and the price is slightly higher than that of the Subscription billing mode.

Pay-As-You-Go

Pay-As-You-Go is a flexible billing mode. Resources are billed per second and no upfront payment is needed. The bill is paid every hour on the hour.

This billing mode is applicable to scenarios where the device demand will sharply fluctuate, such as flash sale on e-commerce websites. The unit price is higher than that of the Pay-By-Daily-Config billing mode.

Billing instructions

To purchase a KEC instance in Pay-As-You-Go mode, make sure that your account has a balance of at least CNY 100.

For this billing mode, the settlement will be made once every hour on the hour (Beijing time), and the fee will be deducted based on actual usage time of a KEC instance in the last hour. The billing starts when a KEC instance is created, and ends when the instance deletion is initiated. The unit price of a KEC instance is presented by hour when you purchase the KEC instance, and the fee is paid by actual number of seconds. Two decimal places are reserved for the amount displayed in the console.

If the No Fees Upon Shutdown feature is enabled for a KEC instance that uses this billing mode, the instance (CPU and memory) will no longer be charged after the KEC instance is stopped. For more information about this feature, see No Fees Upon Shutdown for Pay-As-You-Go instances. If this feature is not supported or not enabled, charges of the instance do not change after the instance is stopped.

Overdue payment processing

After hourly real-time settlement and debiting, if the account balance is not enough to offset the cost of current hour, and the account is not recharged within two hours, KEC instances in the account will stop and the service will be terminated.

If the account is not recharged within 24 hours from the moment of instance stopping, instance resources will be automatically released and the data will not be retained.

Spot Instance

Kingsoft Cloud Spot Instance is a new billing mode that aims at providing cost-effective computing services and saving your usage costs. This is a postpaid mode that allows you to purchase an instance with the same performance as a Pay-As-You-Go instance at a discount of 10% to 90%.
