What are the differences among KEC instances?

Last updated:2020-06-11 11:56:05

The following table shows the differences among KEC instances.

Instance type Definition Scenario Spec
General Purpose Provide only EBS volumes, including the capacity type (SATA) and performance type (SSD). Suitable for scenarios that have no special requirements on resources such as small and medium-sized web applications and mobile applications. 100,000 PPS
I/O Optimized Use local SSDs to provide high random IOPS and low I/O latency. Suitable for various types of databases such as MongoDB and SQL Server, gaming applications, large and medium-sized web applications, mobile applications, and advertising service. 100,000 PPS
Compute Optimized Utilize Intel Xeon E5-2680 v3 CPU to provide high-performance computing power and local SSDs. Suitable for scenarios that require high performance such as batch processing, large-scale distributed analysis, high-workload science and engineering applications, advertising service, MMO games, video encoding, and distributed analysis. 100,000 PPS
I/O Optimized (Enhanced Networking) Compared with the last generation of Enhanced Networking, the infrastructure of Enhanced Networking 2.0 is optimized. It supports more KEC instance types and all types of operating systems while managing PPS for long-term packet forwarding stability. Suitable for applications that have high requirements on real-time network performance such as live video streaming, instant messaging, and online games that require persistent connections. 300,000 PPS
