Create an automatic snapshot policy

Last updated:2021-08-04 11:26:31

You can set an automatic snapshot policy to back up your disk data on a regular basis. Automatic snapshot policies are supported for local disks only.

Limits

The feature is available only to users in the whitelist.

The rules for using an automatic snapshot policy are as follows:

  • Each region supports up to 10 automatic snapshot policies, and each policy can be attached to a maximum of 50 disks.

  • Each disk supports up to seven automatic snapshots. When the number of automatic snapshots of a disk reaches its upper limit, the latest automatic snapshot will overwrite the earliest one. However, the snapshots that you have manually created are not affected.

  • Snapshot policies are executed based on the time of UTC+8 zone.

  • You can generate no more than one snapshot for each disk every day. This rule is followed when the automatic snapshot policy attached to a disk is changed.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KEC console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, choose Snapshot > Automatic Snapshot Policy.

  3. Click Create Policy above the policy list.

  4. In the Create Policy dialog box, perform the following operations:

    • Enter a policy name.
    • Select the date on which you want to automatically create a snapshot.
    • Select a snapshot time. The available time range is 00:00 to 23:00. The default value is 00:00.
  5. Click OK.
