By default, new KEC instances are only assigned with IPv4 addresses instead of IPv6 addresses. If IPv6-enabled ENI and subnet are selected, the instances will automatically obtain IPv6 addresses.
Note that only the following instance types can be allocated with IPv6 addresses in Guangzhou and Beijing data centers: Standard Network SN3, Standard S4, I/O Optimized I4, Compute Optimized C4, and Big Data D4.
This topic describes how to assign an IPv6 address to a new instance being created, and how to assign an IPv6 address to an existing instance.
Before you create an instance, make sure that IPv6 CIDR blocks are available on the VPC and subnet to which the instance will be associated with.
Log in to the KEC console.
Click Create Instance above the instance list. Complete the step of Basic Configuration, and then click Next.
In the Network Configuration step, select the ENI and subnet that support IPv6 CIDR blocks for the instance, and then click Next. The ENI and subnet names include both IPv4 and IPv6 CIDR blocks.
To assign an IPv6 address to an existing instance, make sure that the VPC and subnet associated with the instance have IPv6 CIDR blocks.
Log in to the KEC console.
In the Primary ENI section, click Assign next to IPv6 Address.
To ensure that the changed configuration takes effect, restart the KEC instance.
