Share images

You can share custom images to other users in the same region. Shared images can be used to create KEC instances.

Usage notes

• A custom image can be shared to up to 50 accounts.
• After a custom image is shared, it cannot be deleted unless you have canceled the sharing to all accounts. For more information, see Cancel image sharing.
• If the user account that shares an image is deleted, all user accounts to which the image has been shared can no longer view or use the image. However, instances that have been created by using the image will not be affected.
• A custom image that contains data disks cannot be shared.

Procedure

1. Log in to the KEC console.

2. In the left navigation pane, click Image.

3. In the list of custom images, find the image that you want to share and click Share Image in the Operation column.

4. In the Share Image dialog box that appears, enter the account ID of the user to whom you want to share the image, and then click Share Image.

The user to whom the image has been shared can go to the Image page in the KEC console and click the Share Image tab to find the shared image. The user can use the image to create KEC instances. However, the user cannot modify or delete the image, or share it to other users.
