What is SSD?

Last updated:2020-06-11 13:38:14

A Solid State Drive (SSD) is a storage device made of solid-state electronic memory chip array. Unlike traditional disks, SSDs are characterized by fast reading and writing, light weight, low energy consumption, and small size that traditional HDDs do not have. However, SSDs have their disadvantages. SSDs have entered the mainstream storage market, but they have high prices and low capacity. Once the hardware is damaged, the data stored on it is difficult to be recovered.
