Limits

Last updated:2021-08-20 12:00:22

The following table describes the limits of using Kingsoft Cloud Standard Storage Service (KS3).

Item Limit Method of extending the limit
Bucket
  • You can use a Kingsoft Cloud account to create a maximum of 100 buckets.
  • After a bucket is created, its name and region cannot be changed.
  • The name of a bucket must be unique in KS3.
  • KS3 does not impose limits on the capacity of a single bucket.
You can submit a ticket to apply for more than 50 buckets.
Object upload
  • Using API operations
    • Common upload: When you use common operations such as PUT Object and POST Object to upload objects, the size of each object to be uploaded cannot exceed 5 GB.
    • Multipart upload:
      • If the total size of objects to be uploaded does not exceed 5 MB, the size of each part except the last one cannot be less than 100 KB. If the total size of objects to be uploaded is greater than 5 MB, the size of each part except the last one must be between 5 MB and 5 GB.
      • The maximum size of an object uploaded by using the multipart upload method is 48.8 TB.
      • The same object cannot be split into more than 10,000 parts.
  • Using the KS3 console: You can upload a maximum of 255 objects at a time, and the size of each object cannot exceed 500 MB.
  • If you upload an object that has the same name as an existing object in KS3, the new object overwrites the existing object.
No supported.
Bandwidth
  • The default maximum bandwidth is 5 Gbit/s. If the bandwidth reaches the maximum value, requests are throttled. If your business system requires a larger bandwidth (from 5 Gbit/s to 100 Gbit/s), contact Kingsoft Cloud sales representative.
You can submit a ticket to request a larger bandwidth.
Object deletion
  • You cannot restore deleted objects.
  • You can delete a maximum of 1,000 objects at a time in the KS3 console. To delete more than 1,000 objects at a time, use the KS3 API, SDKs, KS3Explorer, or the KS3Util command line tool.
No supported.
Domain name binding
  • You can bind a maximum of 50 domain names to a bucket.
No supported.
Image processing
  • Property limits:
    • Supported formats are PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, SVG, WBMP, TIFF, TIF, BMP, WebP, and PCX.
    • The size of each image to be processed cannot exceed 10 MB. For GIF images, each GIF image cannot contain more than five frames.
  • Feature limits:
    • You can use KS3 to convert images to the following formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, WBMP, and BMP.
    • You can obtain the dominant color information of images of the following formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, WBMP, BMP, WebP, TIFF, PCX, SVG, and HT.
    • You cannot add watermarks to Archive images.
    • The maximum product of the pixel value of the longer side of the image and the resizing ratio is 5,000.
No supported.
Lifecycle
  • You can create a maximum of 1,000 rules for each bucket.
  • You are not allowed to change the storage class or set deletion-upon-expiration rules for objects uploaded before April 12, 2017.
No supported.
Report statistics
  • The statistics in the report center have a delay of one day.
No supported.
Back-to-origin service
  • Redirection-based back-to-origin: The maximum size of each object that you can migrate by using this method is 50 GB. If the object size exceeds 50 GB, use the KS3 API or SDK.
  • Mirroring-based back-to-origin: The maximum size of each object that you can migrate by using this method is 50 GB. You can configure up to 20 back-to-origin rules.
    • This feature is available only in the China (Beijing) region and you need required permissions to use it. To apply for permissions, contact Kingsoft Cloud sales representative or submit a ticket.
No supported.
Bucket policy
  • The total size of policies cannot exceed 20 KB.
No supported.
Mirror domain name
  • A domain name can contain up to 512 characters in length.
No supported.
Cross-region replication
  • Cross-region replication is applicable only to the data generated after replication is enabled, and historical data is not replicated.
  • Data is replicated only once. If you configure replication from Bucket A to Bucket B and replication from Bucket B to Bucket C, an object that is replicated from Bucket A to Bucket B will not be further replicated to Bucket C.
  • Cross-region replication is applicable to regions in mainland China and Hong Kong.
  • In cross-region replication, data is replicated asynchronously in near real time. Based on the object size, it takes minutes to hours to replicate data from the source bucket to the destination bucket.
  • Three replication modes are supported: one-way, two-way, and transfer. A bucket cannot serve as a source bucket or destination bucket for multiple replication relationships. For example, data in Bucket A cannot be replicated to both Bucket B and Bucket C, and Bucket A cannot serve as a destination bucket for both Bucket B and Bucket C.
Object tagging
  • A maximum of 10 tags can be attached to each object.
No supported.
