Manually attach an EBS volume

Attach an EBS volume to a KEC instance in the EBS console

If you create a KEC instance and an EBS volume separately, you need to manually attach the EBS volume to the KEC instance in the EBS console.

Note: Currently, EBS volumes can be attached to KEC instances only as data disks.

  1. On the EBS tab, find the EBS volume to be attached and choose More > Mount in the Operation column.

  1. In the dialog box that appears, select a KEC instance to which you want to attach the EBS volume. You can specify whether the EBS volume will also be deleted when the KEC instance is deleted. Click OK.

  2. Format the EBS volume and create a file system on the volume before you can write files to the volume.
