Pay-As-You-Go

Last updated:2021-05-27 17:52:41

When you use the Pay-As-You-Go billing mode, you first apply for and use resources as needed, and then you are charged based on your actual resource usage. Bills are settled based on the billing cycle of the resources. A billing cycle can be an hour, a day, or a month. At the end of each billing cycle, a bill is generated and money is taken from your account to pay for the bill. If your account balance is insufficient, your account will become overdue. In this case, you must pay the due amount before the agreed time. Once this time is past, your resources will be shut down and recycled.

Scenarios

Pay-As-You-Go allows you to pay for what you actually use. Pay-As-You-Go is suitable for the following scenarios:

  • Unpredictable business fluctuations
  • Sudden and temporary resource usage

Pros

  • Pay-As-You-Go is a postpaid billing mode. It is more flexible than prepayment. You pay for what you actually use. The bill accurately reflects your usage and no resource is wasted.
  • You can add resources to fulfill urgent needs or remove unnecessary resources. Resource purchase can be adjusted based on business needs.

Cons

  • The unit price of Pay-As-You-Go is higher than that of prepayment.
  • If you try to temporarily add a large number of resources, no sufficient resources may be available for your needs.
