Delete an IAM role

This topic describes how to delete an IAM role that is no longer needed. After a role is deleted, policies will be detached from the role, and permissions specified in the policies will be revoked from the trusted entity.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the IAM console.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Roles.
  3. On the Roles page, find the target role and click Delete in the Actions column.
  4. In the message that appears, click OK.
