Grant permissions to an IAM group

This topic describes how to grant permissions to an IAM group. After you grant permissions to an IAM group, all IAM users in the group inherit its permissions.

Method 1: Grant permissions to a group on the Groups page

1. Log in to the IAM console.
2. In the left navigation pane, choose Identities > Groups. The Groups page appears.
3. Find the target group and click Add Permissions in the Actions column.
4. In the Add Permissions panel, select one or more policies.
5. Click OK.

Method 2: Grant permissions to a group on the Grants page

1. Log in to the IAM console.
2. In the left navigation pane, choose Permissions > Grants. The Grants page appears.
3. Click Grant Permission.
4. In the Add Permissions panel, select the target group and one or more policies.
5. Click OK.

Method 3: Grant permissions to a group on the Policies page

1. Log in to the IAM console.
2. In the left navigation pane, choose Permissions > Policies. The Policies page appears.
3. Find the target policy and click Associated object in the Actions column.
4. In the Associated object panel, select the target group.
5. Click OK.
