Step 2: Create a scaling group

Last updated:2021-05-21 17:41:31

This document describes how to create a scaling group. A scaling group is a collection of KEC instances that are created with the same configuration and used in the same scenario.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Auto Scaling console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Scaling Group.

  3. Click Create. The page for configuring a scaling group appears.

  4. Enter the name of the scaling group.

  5. Set the minimum number, expected number, and maximum number of KEC instances in the scaling group. The expected number of KEC instances specifies the initial number of KEC instances in the scaling group when the scaling group is created. The number of KEC instances in the scaling group will be maintained between the maximum number and minimum number that you set.

    • If the number of KEC instances in the scaling group is less than the minimum number, Auto Scaling automatically adds KEC instances until the number of KEC instances equals the minimum number.

    • If the number of KEC instances in the scaling group is greater than the maximum number, Auto Scaling automatically removes KEC instances until the number of KEC instances equals the maximum number.

  6. Select a removal policy and an existing launch configuration.

  7. Set the associated VPC, associated subnet, server IP addresses, and security group (firewall).

  8. (Optional) Select an existing SLB instance to be attached to the scaling group and set the listener and server ports.

  9. Click Finish. The scaling group appears in the scaling group list.
