Last updated:2021-05-21 17:41:31

This document describes how to create a launch configuration. A launch configuration defines the configuration of KEC instances in the scaling group attached to the launch configuration, such as the image, instance type, and storage. You can create a launch configuration for free.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Auto Scaling console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Launch Configuration.

  3. Select a region from the top navigation bar.

When you select a region, only KEC instances in this region can be automatically added to the scaling group associated with the launch configuration and only an SLB instance in this region can be attached to the scaling group.

For example, if you select the CN North 1(Beijing) region for the launch configuration, only KEC instances in this region can be automatically added to the scaling group. Additionally, you can only attach an SLB instance in this region to the scaling group.

  4. Click Create. The page for configuring a launch configuration appears.

  5. Select an instance type.

Select the type of the KEC instances to be added to a scaling group.

  6. Select an image.

You can select a standard image, a custom image, a shared image, or an image from the marketplace.

  7. Configure basic information.

Configure basic information of the launch configuration, such as the name and administrator password.

  8. Confirm the configuration and then click Buy Now. The launch configuration appears in the launch configuration list.
