This topic describes how to create a listener.

  1. Log in to the SLB console.
  2. Select the region of the SLB instance for which you want to create a listener.
  3. In the SLB instance list, find the target SLB instance and click Enter SLB in the corresponding Operation column.
  4. On the listener list page, click Create Listener.
  5. On the Create Listener page that appears, configure the listener information.
  • A listener that uses TCP or UDP implements Layer 4 load balancing. It identifies the traffic that requires load balancing and redirects the traffic to backend servers.
  • A listener that uses HTTP or HTTPS implements Layer 7 load balancing. It uses application layer information, in addition to Layer 4 information.
