Kingsoft Cloud SLB supports Layer 4 listeners and Layer 7 listeners, which respectively correspond to the transport layer and application layer in the OSI model.
A Layer 4 listener listens to Layer 4 requests (TCP or UDP requests) and distributes the requests to backend servers. The following table describes the configuration to implement Layer 4 forwarding.
Frontend or backend protocol | Frontend port (SLB port) | Backend port (server port) | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|
TCP or UDP | The port used by SLB to receive requests when SLB provides services for internal or external resources. The port range is 1 to 65535, where port 445 is not available. | The ports for receiving traffic distributed by SLB. In an SLB instance, an SLB port corresponds to multiple server ports. | Frontend ports must be unique in an SLB instance. Backend ports can be the same in an SLB instance or a listener. Ports of a real server in a listener must be unique. |
A Layer 7 listener listens to Layer 7 requests (HTTP or HTTPS requests) and distributes the requests to backend servers. The following table describes the configuration to implement Layer 7 forwarding.
