Manage instances

Last updated:2020-12-02 17:22:36

On the Instances page, you can manage your Kingsoft Cloud Redis (KCS) instances. For example, you can renew instances, change instance configuration, change instance names, and delete instances.

Renew instances

You can renew Subscription instances when they expire or your account balance is insufficient.

  1. Log in to the KCS console.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Instances.
  3. Select one or more instances that you want to renew and click Renew.
  4. Specify Renewal Period and click Renew. 管理实例1.png

    Change instance configuration

You can change the configuration of your KCS instances based on your needs.

You can change instance configuration without the need to stop your instances. The configuration change made to a primary/secondary instance takes effect immediately and does not affect services. The configuration change made to a cluster instance causes a transient disconnection of several milliseconds. Make sure that your Redis clients can automatically reconnect to the cluster instance.

Usage notes

  • You can change the configuration of an instances only when it is in the Running state.
  • You cannot downgrade the configuration of Subscription instances.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KCS console.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Instances.
  3. Select one or more instance for which you want to change configuration and click Change Configuration.

Make sure that the instances that you select are of the same type. The selected instances must be all primary/secondary instances or all cluster instances.

  4. Select a new memory capacity and click OK.

The new memory capacity applies to all the selected instances. You will be billed based on the new configuration.

Change the name of an instance

You can change the names of your KCS instances at any time.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KCS console.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Instances.
  3. Move the pointer over the name of the instance that you want to rename.

The Edit icon appears next to the instance name.

  4. Click the Edit icon and enter a new name.

Delete instances

Usage notes

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Instances.
  3. Select one or more instances that you want to delete and choose Instance Operation > Delete. 管理实例3.png
  4. In the dialog box that appears, verify instance information and click OK.

Restart instances

You can restart instances as required. Both primary/secondary instances and cluster instances support the restart operation.

Usage notes

  • You can restart an instance only when it is in the Running state.
  • An instance restart causes a transient disconnection of several seconds. Restart instances only in off-peak hours and make sure that your applications can automatically reconnect to the instances.

Other notes

  • Restart frequency No limit is set on how many times you can restart an instance. You cannot restart an instance that is restarting.
  • Restart failure If an instance fails to restart, the KCS console displays the failure. An instance restart does not change the virtual IP address (VIP) of the instance. After a restart failure, users can still access the VIP.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the KCS console.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Instances.
  3. Select one or more instances that you want to restart and choose Instance Operation > Restart. 管理实例4.png
  4. In the dialog box that appears, verify instance information. If append-only file (AOF) persistence has been enabled for all the selected instances, click OK. If AOF persistence has not been enabled for one or more instances, you must first enable AOF persistence. You can click the link in the description to see how to enable AOF persistence. After AOF persistence is enabled, repeat the preceding steps and click OK in this step. 管理实例5.png
