Step 2: Ownership verification

After completing the certificate request, you must perform ownership verification based on CA's requirements to prove that you own the domains to be bound with the applied certificate. After you submit the ownership verification information, your certificate state changes to Reviewing(Buy Now).

KCM provides the following verification methods:

• DNS verification
• File verification

Prerequisites

1. If you apply for an OV or EV certificate, the CA will call you to confirm organization information, and the ownership verification information will be sent to you by after-sales technician.
2. If you apply for a DV certificate, you must complete ownership verification by following the prompt messages in the console.
3. The certificate is in the Reviewing(Buy Now) state.

Procedure

1. Log in to the KCM console.
2. In the certificate list, find the target certificate and click Click to Finish Ownership Verification in the corresponding Operation column.
3. In the dialog box that appears, obtain the DNS record to be added or the file verification process.

3. From the dialog box that appears, record the record type, host record, and record value.

Add a DNS record in Kingsoft Cloud DNS

1. Log in to the KCM console.
2. In the domain name list, select the domain name for which you want to add a DNS record.
3. In Record Management in the lower part, click Add Record.
4. In the dialog box that appears, select the record type and specify the record name and record value based on the ownership verification information.

   The host record name is the domain name prefix. For example, the host record of a.ksyun.com is a.

5. Click OK.
