KES is a fully managed Elasticsearch service optimized based on open source Elasticsearch. It features easy deployment and management, hot/cold data isolation, elastic scaling, security assurance, and high reliability.
KES provides ready-to-use features that allow you to easily activate the service and create a KES cluster, without the need to deploy or debug software and hardware. The KES console allows you to scale in or out cluster nodes, upgrade configurations, install or uninstall plug-ins, manage cluster configurations, and monitor cluster and node metrics. This simplifies cluster management. With Kibana, you can easily search for, view, and interact with the data stored in indexes. You can also analyze and present data in charts, tables, and maps.
KES supports data nodes, master nodes, coordinator nodes, and warm nodes to demarcate node responsibilities. This enables hot/cold data isolation and read/write splitting. You can select the specifications and storage media for different nodes as required, dynamically adjust cluster configurations, and scale in or out cluster nodes to fully leverage the advantages of a distributed cluster. This allows you to cope with different business scenarios, ensure business development in real time, and effectively control the costs.
KES is deployed in logically isolated virtual private clouds (VPCs). This way, you can fully control your environment configurations, define network access control lists (ACLs), and configure security group policies. KES is integrated with X-Pack that provides security features such as encrypted communication, role-based access control, file-based and native authentication, Kibana Spaces, Kibana feature control, and API key management. This effectively ensures the security of your cloud resources.
KES supports snapshot-based automatic backup and restoration, snapshot storage, and load balancing to ensure high reliability of clusters. In the KES console, you can enable automatic backup on the data backup page and set the automatic backup cycle based on your business needs. Then, KES automatically backs up data in snapshots as scheduled on a daily basis. The snapshots are stored in Kingsoft Cloud Standard Storage Service (KS3). You can run commands to restore index data from snapshots. This provides another measure to achieve disaster recovery.
