Manage SSH keys

Last updated:2021-06-15 11:16:24

You can specify an SSH key pair when you create a GEPC instance, and use the SSH key pair to log in to the GEPC instance. All key pairs created are managed centrally on the SSH Key page.

Create a key pair

  1. Log in to the EPC console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click SSH Key.

  3. On the page of the SSH key pair list, click Create Key.

  4. Create a key pair in one of the following ways:

    • Create New Key Pair: Enter a name for the key pair, click Next and then click Download in the dialog box that appears to save the private key locally. The private key can be downloaded only once and cannot be retrieved later. If you lose it, you must create another key pair.

    • Use Existing Public Key: Enter the key pair name and public key, and then click OK.

View and rename a key pair

A key pair is uniquely identified by ID or fingerprint. You can view the content of the public key in a key pair, or change key pair names in a batch.

  1. Enter the EPC > SSH Key page.

  2. Select the key pair that you want to view. You can then view the creation time, key ID, and public key content.

  3. Select one or more key pairs that you want to rename, and then click Modify.

  4. Enter a new key pair name and then click OK.

If you selected multiple key pairs, the key pairs will be renamed in the New name + suffix format.

Delete a key pair

If you delete a key pair, it will not be recovered.

To delete a key pair:

  1. Enter the EPC > SSH Key page.

  2. Select one or more key pairs that you want to delete, and then click Delete.

  3. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
