Step 4: Modify DNS records

Last updated:2020-06-01 15:42:38

After validating the DNS configuration, modify the corresponding DNS records of the DNS hosting provider, which will forward domain name requests to WAF for inspection.

In this example, Kingsoft Cloud serves as the DNS hosting provider. For other scenarios, consult your DNS hosting provider.

To configure the DNS settings:

  1. On the upper-left corner of the console, choose Services and Products > Domain Name Service > Domain Name Service.
  2. Select the domain name.
  3. On the lower part of the page, click Add Record.
  4. Configure the following key parameters:
    • Record Type: Select CNAME as the record type.
    • Record Name: Enter the name of the domain record. Make sure it is the same as the name configured in the WAF configuration.
    • Record Value: Enter the CNAME value you saved in a file previously.
  5. Click OK.

After the DNS resolution takes effect, the origin server is accessible and the service state of the domain name record displays Normal Service.
