Create an IAM user for your employee and assign permissions to the IAM user

If you want to authorize an employee to access the cloud computing resources of your Kingsoft Cloud account, the general procedure is as follows:

  1. Log in to the Kingsoft Cloud console (new version) with your Kingsoft Cloud account and password.
  2. Create an IAM user.
  3. Set a login password or create an AccessKey for the IAM user.
  4. Attach policies to the IAM user.
  5. Provide the employee with the IAM user login URL, the username, and the login password or AccessKey.
  6. The employee logs in to and uses the Kingsoft Cloud console or calls APIs with the AccessKey as the IAM user.

Create an IAM user

  1. Log in to the Kingsoft Cloud console (new version) with your Kingsoft Cloud account and password.
  2. Choose Products and Services > Monitor and Management > IAM. In the left navigation pane, choose Identities > Subusers. The Subusers page appears.
  3. On the Subusers page, click Create User. The Create User page appears, as shown in the following figure.

  1. Enter the login information for the IAM user and click Submit. You can create up to 10 IAM users at a time. You can also select an access mode for the IAM user to be created.

Set a login password for an IAM user

  1. Log in to the Kingsoft Cloud console (new version) with your Kingsoft Cloud account and password.
  2. Choose Products and Services > Monitor and Management > IAM. In the left navigation pane, choose Identities > Subusers. The Subusers page appears.
  3. On the Subusers page, click the username of an IAM user to go to the User details page. On the Safety management tab, click Edit Rule next to Console Logon Management. The Edit Rule pane appears, as shown in the following figure.

  1. Use a system-generated password or specify a custom password. You can also select the password reset option so that the IAM user must reset the initial password at the next login.

Create an AccessKey for an IAM user

  1. Log in to the Kingsoft Cloud console (new version) with your Kingsoft Cloud account and password.
  2. Choose Products and Services > Monitor and Management > IAM. In the left navigation pane, choose Identities > Subusers. The Subusers page appears.
  3. On the Subusers page, click the username of an IAM user to go to the User details page. On the Safety management tab, click New Key, as shown in the following figure. You can create up to two AccessKeys for an IAM user.

  1. Take note of or download the AccessKey information.

Attach policies to an IAM user

  1. Log in to the Kingsoft Cloud console (new version) with your Kingsoft Cloud account and password.
  2. Choose Products and Services > Monitor and Management > IAM. In the left navigation pane, choose Identities > Subusers. The Subusers page appears.
  3. On the Subusers page, click the username of an IAM user to go to the User details page. On the Permissions tab, you can find a list of policies currently attached to the IAM user. Click Add Permissions to attach new policies to the IAM user, as shown in the following figure.

View the IAM user login URL

  1. Log in to the Kingsoft Cloud console (new version) with your Kingsoft Cloud account and password.
  2. Choose Products and Services > Monitor and Management > IAM. The Overview page appears.
  3. Obtain the IAM user login URL for the current account, as shown in the following figure.

  1. Send the IAM user login URL to the owner of an IAM user. Then, the IAM user can log in to the Kingsoft Cloud console by using the URL and perform the operations that they need.
